Itinerary

Day 1

The adventure begins as we depart from Chandigarh and drive towards the picturesque town of Shimla, located 113 kilometers away. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours. Upon arrival in Shimla, we will embark on an exploration of this charming hill station. Our visit includes the iconic Christ Church, the historic Gaiety Theatre, the bustling Lakkar Bazaar, and the serene Jakhu Temple.

Day 2

Today, we continue our expedition, driving from Shimla to Sarahan and then on to Sangla and Chitkul. Covering a distance of 246 kilometers, the journey may take around 6-7 hours. Along the way, we will stop to visit the Bhima Kali Temple in Sarahan, the ancient Kamru Fort in Sangla, and the enchanting Chitkul village.

Day 3

After breakfast, we continue our drive from Sangla to Kalpa to Nako, covering approximately 140 kilometers in 6-7 hours. In Kalpa, we will be treated to breathtaking views of the majestic Kinner Kailash and Jorkandan Peaks.

Day 4

Today’s journey takes us from Nako to Tabo to Dhankar, covering a distance of 94 kilometers in 4-5 hours. We will make a stop at Gue village, where we can witness the fascinating naturally mummified monk. Later, we will explore the ancient Tabo Monastery and the striking Dhankar Gompa.

Day 5

Our drive continues from Dhankar to Lalung to Demul and finally to Kaza, covering a distance of 92 kilometers in 4-5 hours. Along the way, we will visit Lalung Gompa and the remote village of Demul. Upon reaching Kaza, the commercial capital of Spiti Valley, we will settle in and rest.

Day 6

Today’s adventure takes us to the nearby villages of Komik and Langza. The round trip from Kaza covers 50 kilometers and can take 2-3 hours. We will visit the ancient Komik Monastery and explore Langza, renowned for its rich fossil deposits.

Day 7

On this day, we will drive from Kaza to Ki Monastery and further to Tashigang, Gette, and Chicham. We will have the opportunity to explore the impressive Ki Monastery and experience the unique charm of these high-altitude villages.

Day 8

Continuing our journey, we drive from Kibber to Losar and then to Kunzum La Pass before finally arriving at Chandratal Lake, covering a distance of 110 kilometers in 5-6 hours. We will visit the Kunzum La temple and set up camp near the breathtaking Chandratal Lake.

Day 9

Today is dedicated to exploring the mesmerizing beauty of Chandratal Lake and witnessing its changing colors throughout the day. After a serene and awe-inspiring experience, we will drive from Chandratal Lake to Manali via the famous Rohtang Pass.

Day 10

Our last day of this remarkable journey involves a long drive from Manali to Chandigarh, covering a distance of 291 kilometers in 7-8 hours. We bid farewell to the enchanting Spiti Valley region and head back to Chandigarh Railway Station or Airport, cherishing the memories of a truly unforgettable expedition.
